Michael Orris, DO, MBA, FASMBS, is a founding partner and lead surgeon at AZ Weight Loss Clinic – located in Tempe, Glendale, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Sun City West, and Tucson, Arizona – and Arizona Surgical Institute. Dr. Orris graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his residency at Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and earned a master’s degree in healthcare administration from St. Joseph’s University. With a passion for helping patients attain and maintain a healthy weight, Dr. Orris successfully performs hundreds of weight-loss surgeries every year. Patients benefit from his years of bariatric surgery experience and the personal intensity he brings to each case. Recognized consistently as a “Top Doc” by PHOENIX Magazine, Dr. Orris is also proficient in hiatal hernia repair, umbilical, inguinal and abdominal wall hernia repair, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Dr. Orris is a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Orris is currently accepting new patients and has office locations in Tempe, Mesa, Glendale, West Phoenix, and North Tucson. Dr. Orris has surgical privileges at Banner Estrella, Banner Gateway, Chandler Regional, Mercy General Medical Center, Tempe St. Luke’s, Abrazo Central Campus, Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital, and East Valley Surgery Center.

Thomas Buddensick

MD

Committed to the long-term success and health of his patients, Thomas Buddensick, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in weight loss surgery. Dr. Buddensick provides patients with compassionate, comprehensive care at AZ Weight Loss Clinic, which has locations in Tempe, Glendale, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Sun City West, and Tucson, Arizona. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Dr. Buddensick received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Buddensick began his career with a residency in general surgery at the Bariatric Center of Excellence in Baltimore. Dr. Buddensick also received training in advanced laparoscopic procedures during his bariatric surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dedicated to the long-term impacts of weight loss, Dr. Buddensick takes the time to understand the needs and goals of each of his patients to help ensure success. Catherine Kin Ho

DO

Catherine Ho, DO, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in weight loss surgery. She provides expert and compassionate care to patients in Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale, Queen Creek, Sun City West, and Tucson, Arizona, at the AZ Weight Loss Clinic. Passionate about helping her patients reach their health goals, Dr. Ho is committed to her patients as they embark on their weight loss journey. He received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Ho completed her general surgery residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. She then completed her fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida, where she helped research and uncover innovations in the field of bariatric surgery. Extensively trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery, Dr. Ho uses her expertise to find treatments and solutions that fit the needs of each unique patient.

Mike Murphy

RD

Michael Murphy, RD, is a registered dietitian with over 18 years of experience working with weight loss surgery patients. He is the lead dietitian and nutrition adviser for AZ Weight Loss Clinic, a weight loss surgery practice with locations in Tempe, Glendale, Phoenix, Queen Creek, Sun City West, and Tucson, Arizona. Michael is dedicated to providing excellent preop and postop nutrition, weight loss education, and follow-ups to each patient he sees. His mission is to re-shape the nutritional habits and behaviors of his weight loss surgery patients to ensure permanent success after weight loss surgery. He is a graduate of Arizona State University and went on to complete his dietetic internship in Columbia, South Carolina. During his 18 years, his work has been published in national magazines, and he has appeared numerous times on local TV stations discussing the benefits of weight loss surgery and the proper nutrition before and after surgery. Michael is a father of three teenagers and is currently living in Phoenix, Arizona.
